Dedicated theaters and media rooms with the sound isolation, wiring and sightlines planned before the drywall goes up.
A home theater is mostly decided while the walls are still open. Sound isolation, conduit, sightlines and seating risers are all cheap at framing and expensive-to-impossible afterwards.
Sound isolation and wiring
Keeping sound in the theater — and the rest of the house out of it — means decoupling and mass, not foam on the walls. Depending on how far you want to take it, that is resilient channel or isolation clips, a second layer of drywall with a damping compound, insulated cavities, solid-core doors with proper seals, and sealing every electrical box and duct penetration.
We pre-wire during framing: speaker runs to each planned location, HDMI and network in conduit so a future upgrade means pulling a new cable instead of opening a wall, and dedicated circuits for the equipment rack with ventilation planned for the heat it throws.
Sightlines, seating and light control
We set the screen size and seating rows against the actual room dimensions, then build risers so the back row sees over the front. Riser framing gets its cabling run before it closes, and we keep it hollow-free where footfall would drum.
Then the details that make it a theater and not a room with a big television: no windows or blackout treatment where there are, matte dark finishes to stop screen reflection, dimmable and scene-controlled lighting, step lighting on the risers, and an equipment location that is accessible without walking in front of the screen.

Home Theaters — common questions
Do I need a dedicated room, or can a media room work?
Both work — they are just different projects. A dedicated theater with light control and isolation gets you cinema performance. A media room that is also the family hangout is more flexible and less expensive. We build to whichever you will actually use.
Can you soundproof a theater under bedrooms?
Yes, and that is exactly the case where it is worth doing properly. Decoupling the ceiling, adding mass with damping, insulating the cavity and sealing every penetration makes a large, measurable difference. Foam panels on the walls do not.
Do you supply the audio-visual equipment?
We build the room, run the wiring and coordinate with your AV integrator on their requirements. If you do not have one, we can bring in someone we have worked with before.
